Hello there!
My name is Cesar, and I'm a Computer Graphics Engineer specialized in
real-time rendering and performance optimization for modern
game engines (UE4/5, Unity) using
DirectX12, Vulkan, and OpenGL/WebGL.
I focus on developing efficient rendering systems and shaders that scale across
PC, XR, and mobile platforms. My work combines deep
technical knowledge with a strong production focus, profiling GPU/CPU workloads,
identifying bottlenecks, and integrating optimized graphics features into both
proprietary and commercial engines.
I'm currently pursuing a PhD at King Juan Carlos University, with research experience
in physically based rendering of cloth materials and high performance computation.
Below you'll find some of the projects I’ve contributed to. If my work resonates with your needs,
feel free to reach out!
Worked on Trial Xtreme Freedom (1M+ downloads), focusing on GPU/CPU optimization across large levels.
Halved frame time through shader optimization, a custom batching system, and render pipeline improvements.
Developed custom HLSL shaders and Shader Graph nodes for volumetrics, decals, and water, while streamlining artist tools and workflows.
Contributed to Triangle Strategy (VR) for Meta Quest by identifying and fixing
GPU bottlenecks and draw-call overheads, reducing them by over 99% to achieve
the required 72 FPS performance target.
Developed a dynamic grass instancing system and resolved ASW warping artifacts,
enhancing UI stability and delivering a smoother, more consistent VR experience.
Contributed to the Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC port by optimizing
mesh streaming within a Nanite-inspired UE4 system, addressing platform-specific
memory and mesh handling challenges.
Achieved 30–50% performance gains through targeted optimizations that improved data flow
efficiency and reduced streaming overhead, ensuring a smoother and more stable gameplay experience on PC.
Worked on the mobile adaptation of Titan Quest: Legendary Edition, focusing on rendering and
performance optimization for Android and iOS.
Improved GPU performance through shader optimizations and reduced memory usage by
packing texture channels.
Implemented UI rendering features, controller-specific graphics, and
full gamepad support, ensuring consistent gameplay across touch and controller input.
Unreal Home is a simulation platform designed to carry out the generation of photorealistic synthetic datasets of
human daily basis interactions in virtual environments.
It was developed in collaboration with the 3D Perception Lab (3DPL) group from
the Department of Information Technology and Computing (DTIC) of the
University of Alicante.
Dodgeball Masters is a frenetic multiplayer sports game where two teams of 3 members compete
until one of them stands above the other by eliminating all the rival team members.
There are 8 different characters to choose from, for your team, with differents statistics and skills that enable a
wide range of possibilities and strategies.
Battle Tank is a head-to-head tank fight game with
AI-controlled enemies, an advanced control system, and controller support that takes places in a real looking war environment.
Will you be able to defeat the enemies? To do so you must wisely use the strategic
spots distributed around the map.
Nobody is a platformer and puzzle game
developed for the biggest game development festival in Ireland, the Games Fleadh
2019.
To solve the challenging puzzles of the game you will need to kill the enemies of
every level and use the unique body change mechanic.
Project Starfall is an arcade 2D game, where the main goal is to survive the longest possible by dodging the evil aliens and the fast asteroids falling from the sky.
PLAY ON BROWSERBat Hunter Tanuki is a 2D action roguelike
game inspired by Japanese
folklore and originally developed in one week for the 2 Buttons Jam
2018.
To recover your precious leaves you must kill all the enemies and get to the end of
the randomly generated maze where the Midnight Lord awaits.
Room Maker is a Virtual Reality scenario
editor developed using Unity 3D and Oculus hardware.
Using Room Maker, users can create their own indoor scenarios with different lighting
and furniture, and explore them using VR technology.
