Bat Hunter Tanuki was originally created in one week for
the 2 Buttons Jam 2018 and
was a great chance to discover my limits at the time of developing a whole game in a short period of
time.
The game is mainly inspired by rogue-like games such as
The
Binding
of Isaac, Enter the
Gungeon or Moonlighter.
Creating this game was very challenging, but at the same time, I believe it was a great opportunity
to further research and implement rogue-like mechanics such as the procedurally
generated environments.
• Programmed a procedural maze generation algorithm.
• Created a final boss with different special attacks.
• Designed the UI and gameplay mechanics being aware of the 2 buttons limitation rule.
• Created a dialogue system to tell the story behind the game.
• Created all the art assets.
• Created all the sound effects (but the music).
